Abstract: Stoppers made from composite material for sparkling wines consisting of two types of cork agglomerate which are closely bonded and produced from two ranges of granulates of different granulometry, where the joining surface between the two agglomerates is irregular due to their interpenetration. A production process of such stoppers by individual molding (piece by piece), where there is simultaneous feeding of two types of granulate and respective additives into a mold. The mold is then closed and the material compressed and heated for an appropriate time for polymerization. The granulates used are normally treated with a reactive agglomerant consisting of, for example, quasi-prepolymer based on TDI or quasi-prepolymer based on MDI base. After de-molding, the unfinished stopper is stabilized, and later machined to the final dimensions.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a new method to produce natural water-based glues made of two components, designed to glue lignocellulosic surfaces, mainly cork and wood. The mentioned process comprises the extraction of the aqueous phase of a mixture resulting from liquefying cork dust and/or cork granules, process that is commonly referred to as depolimerization process of cork; evaporation of the aqueous phase, therefore obtaining a first component consisting of a gel composed by the soluble components of the liquefying mixture; mixing and homogenizing of this gel with the second component that consists of a curing aliphatic compound; and, optionally, addition and mixture to “cork dust” to the previously mentioned mix.

Process of valorization of tomato pomace The present invention relates to an integrated process for recovering tomato juice from tomato pomace as well as biologically dehydrating and stabilizing it. The innovative process developed involves four main steps: separation by dissolution in an aqueous matrix compatible with human feed, solid-liquid separation, filtration cake washing and thermal dehydration. The tomato juice resulting from the developed process is intended to be incorporated into the tomato concentrates of the tomato: processing industry. The dehydrated tomato pomace is a biologically stable product and can be used in ruminant and non-ruminant animal feed and as raw material for biotechnological and pharmaceutical applications.
