Mário Vale holds a BSC. And MSc. in Technological Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. After finishing his master's, he worked as a researcher in Greenseal Research in the development of greener polyurethane foams. He then participated in a project with Cabopol to develop nanocomposites to enhance electrical cables' flame retardancy. Since 2018, he has been a Ph.D. Student in chemical engineering at Técnico. His Ph.D. research is focused on applying sol-gel chemistry in emulsions to create single and multicomponent oxide microspheres with customized porosity, known as MICROSCAFS. He is currently testing these new particles as photocatalytic supports in the Solar2Clean project.
