Rita Durão is a researcher fellow at Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera Lisboa (IPMA), Lisboa (Portugal). She completed her PhD in Environmental Engineering on 2016; and a Msc on Geo- Resources on 2006, at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa. Rita Durão has participated as a team member in several national (CIDMeg, BioAridRisk, Desert Warning, GISA, LTER Montado) and international EU funded projects (FirEUrisk, ARISTOTLE 2-ENHSP, SADMO, Desurvey). Her main research areas are Climate Extreme Events, Air Quality, Forest fires, Neural Network models, Geostatistical modeling and Environmental Applications.
