Amir Afzali is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie doctoral researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, pursuing a PhD in Geophysics. He holds two Master’s degrees in Petroleum and Mining Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin, a Master’s in Geophysics from the University of Tehran, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Exploration Engineering from Shahrood University of Technology. He previously interned at Schlumberger, where he worked on 2D wavelet transform analysis for geophysical applications, and conducted research at the Polytechnic University of Turin on simulating heat transfer in rocks in the Alpine region. His research interests focus on geophysical data processing, subsurface imaging, and computational modeling using machine learning.
