Kamila Amancio obtained her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Environmental Sanitation, from the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil, in 2024. She completed her M.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Federal University of Campina Grande in 2020 and earned her B.Sc. in Environmental and Sanitary Engineering from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará in 2017. From 2020 to 2025, she worked as a researcher in the Environmental Technology Group at the Federal University of Ceará, conducting research in the field of wastewater treatment and optimization of aerobic granulation reactors. Her research focused on bioresource recovery, with emphasis on alginate-like exopolysaccharides and tryptophan, and she took part in projects funded by CNPq and FUNCAP. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Department of Civil Engineering and Georesources, as part of the project REESOURCE – Unlocking the Supply of Rare Earth Elements in Europe through Responsible, Sustainable and Decarbonized Innovative Technologies.
