Created by Council of Ministers Resolution no. 73-B / 2014, of December 16, Autoridade de Gestão do Programa Operacional Competitividade e Internacionalização (COMPETE 2020) is a structure in the Central State Administration that envisages to be a reference institution in the concession of incentives to promote competitiveness and internationalization, promoting the consolidation of competitive advantages.

COMPETE 2020's mission is to ensure adequate conditions, at the level of competences, practices and institutional coordination, for a selection of applications aimed at creating and adding value to innovative products and services and for the promotion of cohesion and territorial integration.
