Recently, the Stanford University World’s Top 2% Scientists list was released. Compiled annually with Elsevier, the list recognized more than 240 000 scientists across 22 fields.
The list is divided into single-year impact, which recognizes the most cited scientists in the previous year, and career impact, which recognizes the impact of scientists throughout their career. CERENA had three scientists recognized in this year’s list; Pedro Castro was among the most cited scientists in the previous year, while also being recognized for his career. João Gomes and Moisés Pinto were both recognized for the impact of their scientific careers.
