Técnico Nightjar Annotiathon

Join us for Técnico Nightjar Annotiathon, an event similar to a hackathon, taking place on the night of 13th to 14th November at the Técnico Innovation Center. The event is open to everyone, and we can highlight:

  • There's no need for programming skills;
  • There will be food and non-alcoholic beverages all night;
  • Participation should be done in teams of two;
  • There will be monetary prizes for the top three teams (1000€ for the first place, 500€ for the second and 250€ for the third);
  • All participants who finish the event will have a souvenir.

In this memorable night, you will advance scientific research by annotating bird images! The challenge is simple: correctly annotate the centers of the two eyes, the beak, the crown of the head, and the bounding box. The team with the most accurate annotations wins!

Enrolment is free, but mandatory, and begins in September. Enrollment is possible until early November (or until reaching the full capacity of the venue). Read the full regulation here.

Juntem-se a nós para o Técnico Nightjar Annotiathon, um evento ao estilo hackathon, que se realiza na noite de 13 para 14 de novembro, no Técnico Innovation Center. O evento é aberto a toda a população e destaca-se por:

  • Não ser necessários quaisquer conhecimentos de programação;
  • Comida e bebida à descrição durante toda a noite;
  • Participação em equipas de dois elementos;
  • Prémios monetários para os três primeiros classificados (1000€ para o primeiro lugar, 500€ para o segundo e 250€ para o terceiro); 
  • Todos os participantes que terminem o evento receberão também uma pequena lembrança.

Nesta noite única, vais poder contribuir para o avanço científico anotando imagens de aves! O desafio é simples: anotar corretamente o centro dos dois olhos, o bico, o topo da cabeça e a bounding box. A equipa com mais anotações corretas ganha!

O evento é gratuito, mas com inscrição obrigatória. As inscrições abrem no início de Setembro e são possíveis até ao início de Novembro (ou até atingir a lotação máxima do espaço). O regulamento completo pode ser lido aqui.
