The 14th Seminar on Groundwater will take place next December in the Universidade Lusófona - Centro Universitário de Lisboa.
The thematic sessions will include:
- Quantitative/qualitative hydrogeological studies in climate change scenarios • Water Resources Management Plans • Methodologies for integrating climate change into hydrogeological studies • Hydrogeo-ethics and environmental impact assessment • Assessment of recharge and underground reserves in climate change scenarios
- Nature-based solutions, aquifer recharge management, storage and extraction of groundwater
- Protection of groundwater extraction points, constructive aspects and definition of protection perimeters, monitoring and control of groundwater quality
- Prospection techniques
- Groundwater in engineering works and urban environment
- Vulnerability to aquifer pollution • coastal aquifers and saline intrusion • pollution and recovery of aquifer in mining areas
- Mathematical modeling of groundwater flow and quality • Data models • Open access models
- Legislative aspects of groundwater, parameters, legal restrictions and feasibility of implementation
Thematic sessions and round tables will provide a detailed view of the the national and international state of the art in groundwater, which will integrated into the State of the Art of Portuguese Water Resources, presented in March 2025 at the National Water Congress.
