Bachelor and Master degree in Environmental Sciences and Technology, with the MSc thesis “Reliability of a line-of-view sensor for recycling waste containers”. PhD in Environmental Engineering, developed at Porto and IRSA-CNR in Rome, Italy, with a FCT mixed scholarship, with the theme “Microbial Bioelectrochemical Remediation of Chlorinated Organics”, supervised by Anthony Danko, Hendrikus Nouws and Federico Aulenta. Currently working in physical, chemical and biological processes for the recovery of tungsten and lithium, integrated in the European project FAME a pos-Doc. Experience in the world outside academia and research, with clear understanding to the importance of close cooperation between industry and R&D. Her research interests are bioelectrochemical systems, contamination remediation, economic importance metals processing and recovery.
