Marina Cabral Pinto has a degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Aveiro, a pre-Bologna Master's degree in Geosciences, in Geochemistry, Environment and Spatial Planning, from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, and a PhD in Geosciences from the University of Aveiro, in the area of Cartography and Environmental Geochemistry.

She did a post-doc in the area of Medical Geology and is currently a researcher (until 31 December 2024) at the GeoBioTec Research Centre, in the area of Environmental Geochemistry, Geo-statistics, Geomedicine and BioGeoRemediation.
