CERENA-FEUP

.

Graduated in Mining Engineering in 1985, by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto (FEUP), maintaining an academic course in the field of Mineral Raw Materials Processing and Geoenvironment. In May 1999 obtained her PhD in Mining Engineering by the same university. She has more than 30 years of experience in the engineering academia, with emphasis on "Physical and Hydrometallurgical Processing of Minerals and Mineral Raw Materials" and "Environmental and Mining Geology". Her research interests are mainly oriented towards modeling of mineral processes (physics of chemical processes), mining environmental impacts, chemical processes in soil remediation and recovery of metals from mineral raw materials. In the last ten years, was a researcher in 8 funded research projects (4 of which in international projects) and supervised or co-supervised over 10 Msc. theses. Currently is the director of the Engineering Sciences - Mining and Geo-Environmental Engineering BSC degree and the Mining Engineering and Geo-Environment MSC degree at FEUP, and supervisor of one PhD student and one Msc student.
