Alexandre Machado Leite
Mário Machado Leite, born in do Porto, is graduated in Mining Engineering by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, where he also received the PhD diploma in Mining Engineering, in the speciality of Mineral Processing. He is Professor at Mining Department in Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, where he was Director of Department and where he supervises several master and PhD thesis. Since 1993, he started collaboration in National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG), as head of the chemical, mining and technological laboratory. In 2009 he becomes a member of the LNEG administration board, being the main interlocutor of the Science and Mineral Technology Unit. Actually, he is work package leader in the European H2020 FAME Project, contributing with his expertise on mineral processing. He was the responsible for the development of a continuous pilot plant, at LNEG facilities, aiming the production of lepidolite concentrates by froth flotation.
He is also member of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers and of the Society of Mining Engineers.
