CERENA at STONE 2019
CERENA participated, on June 13th, on STONE 2019 at Exposalão Batalha, Portugal. CERENA/IST participation followed the Invitation of the Portugal Mineral Resources Cluster, from which CERENA/IST is a Partner Entity.
CERENA’s participation was designed to raise awareness of the Center's strengths as well as to promote our undergraduate and master's degree programs directed to the sector as well as examples of knowledge application to challenges faced on Natural stone exploitation and conservation, namely the impacts of fire on stone used on cultural heritage and stability mechanical tests on underground exploitation of marbles.
The Cluster's participation in the STONE 2019 edition focused on bringing Academia entities closer to the Industry, bringing supply closer to demand and enhancing the collaboration of Companies / Entities of R&D&I and qualified employment.
he STONE fair- Machinery, Tools and Natural Stone Fair aims to promote and increase the visibility of Natural Stone of Portugal, in the national and international market, with the ambition of fomenting the business to national exports.
The Natural Stone Sector faces challenges of innovation that lead to a demand for qualified human resources in a diversified area. The evolution of the Natural Stone Sector is provoking a growing demand for qualified human resources, to which the Cluster Partner Entities, Universities and Polytechnical Institutes, are prepared to respond.
