In an article  of newspaper Expresso, Amilcar Soares explains that to accomplish the goal of Paris Agreement by limiting the rising of global warming to well below 2oC by 2100, new reserves of oil and gas must be discovered. This is an achievement of the 2017 report “Perspectives for the Energy Transition. Investments Needs for a Low-Carbon Energy System”, made by International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The findings of this report will inform G20 work on energy and climate in the context of the 2017 German G20 presidency.
