Amélia Dionísio will teach at the 5th edition of the Practices of Architecture course.
The course will take place between the 14th and the 19th of May and is promoted by the Department of Architecture and Urbanism of ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, in partnership with TEKTÓNICA – International Fair of Construction and Public Works.
The objective of the course is to develop skills in Architecture Practices, namely in construction and conservation techniques, completing the current theoretical teaching. Students will have the opportunity to work the material and participate in stone constructions, under the guidance of a specialist in the field .
Teaching is multidisciplinary. It includes Construction History, Material Science, and aims to promote interdisciplinarity between Construction Techniques and Project Methodology, and between Construction and Conservation.The program contemplates traditional and contemporary design methods and construction techniques, exploring the potential of the material, challenging the student to creativity and researching new technologies.
The course integrates the Curricular Units of Construction Systems and Conservation and Rehabilitation of Buildings of the Master in Architecture of ISCTE-IUL.
