Partner Week of the Mine Road Map and Points of Mining and Geological Interest of Portugal: 19-25 March

Between March 19th and 25th, the “Partner Week of the Mine Road Map and Points of Mining and Geological Interest of Portugal” will take place. Various initiatives programmed by Partners throughout the continent and the Autonomous Region of the Azores will provide different and novel experiences to all interested parties.

The Museum of Geosciences of Instituto Superior Técnico organizes the following activities:

– “Signs of fire” – March 19. Meeting Point at the entrance of the Lisbon Cathedral at 2:00 p.m. Limited and compulsory registration (23 people). Note: The course presents physical barriers and circulation limitations.

– “Mysteries of Water” (groundwater and thermal water) – on 21 March at the Décio Thadeu Museum, starting at 2.30 pm. Limited registrations (50 people)

– “Belém Tower 20 years later” (to revisit the site after a careful conservation and restoration program) – March 23 from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Meeting point at the entrance of the Tower of Belém at 2:00 p.m. Limited registration (20 people).

The visits will be conducted by Professor Manuel Francisco and Professor Amélia Dionísio  (from the Museums of Geosciences of IST)
