This paper presents the use of CAPE software tools at the undergraduate Master level (2nd cycle) in the so called integrated Master's degree of Chemical Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Instituto Superior Técnico/Universidade de Lisboa. This integrated master programme of (3 + 2) years addresses the most important scientific and technological challenges of modern society and providing solid advanced training. Among a total 120 ECTS of this Master level curriculum, 46.5 ECTS are dedicated to courses where students currently learn and use CAPE software tools namely, MATLAB/Simulink, Control System and MPC MATLAB Toolboxes, Aspen Plus, GAMS, gPROMS and OpenFOAM. © 2017 Elsevier B.V.
