I concluded my master degree in Environmental Sciences at UMinho in 2001 in "Denitrification of industrial effluents using constructed reed beds supported in LECA". From 1997 to 2006 worked as Associate Professor at IPCB and URBE/ISVouga. In 2007 as researcher of the project “Phytoremediation of mine waters and remediation of surrounding contaminated areas” in ENVERG at IST and from 2008 to 2009 worked in the Environment Engineering Department of EDIA. I was then awarded with a FCT PhD grant to work in "Phytoremediation of Acid Mine Waters" supervised by Prof. Susete Martins Dias and Prof. Manuel F. Costa Pereira. My main research interests are phytoremediation, constructed wetlands, effluents treatment and environmental impact assessment.
